We visited a company called D3. They publish all sorts of games, but most have been for Playstation or Playstation 2. Recently, D3 has become more prominent in mobile content games (games for your cell phone). Given their advanced hardware and networks, D3 is able to publish some really cool stuff. We saw a mobile game with 480p resolution and graphics, pretty great interactivity and capability of online multiplayer! It was awesome! The tour through the facility was kind of funny, we walked out one door, entered a medium sized room with about 30 workspaces, then left and went back to the lobby for a picture. Many companies are like this in Japan because floorspace is so expensive. The country is very small and the population is not so the demand for land is very high.
D3 is also working on a singing game featuring these bouncy characters…
I don’t actually know what the plot of this game is, but it is… uh… “visually captivating.”

Dr. C had a blast with that game on the cell phone. I think he was trying not to let anyone else play.
I’ve played the Xbox version of Earth Defense Force. I was pretty fun, in a really bad kinda way. And I have to say, that phone’s graphics were probably only half as bad as the console version. Which is actually quite impressive.
I was on the other side of the room of Dr. C, but I did notice him playing that game for about 5 straight minutes. Also, that video you posted is funny, because right by the desk of the TV it was on were action figures that you could “de-clothe” and I found that amusing because one of the employees actually showed me how to do it. D3 was a pretty cool site visit, and it just added to the awesomeness of Japan.
I really don’t know why Japan has such a large scale fascination with French maids. Between the anime we saw, the toys, cafe and games they have to be up there in number with Gundams. I have to say though that I was pretty surprised by the length and content of D-3′s tour. The whole room of it.
I agree. Dr. C was having a little to much fun with the game. I wonder if plays any and what kind. He was acting like a kid in a toy shop. As for the maids outfit, I think that they want females to look cute and innocent. Just a guess.
